One of the better casual Indian restaurants in Montgomery County MD. Cuisine is focused on Northern Indian and Indo-Chinese. Very good food quality. I enjoy their lunch buffet option. It's not budget but there are plenty of options inviting for vegan to omnivore. Service is attentive but not overbearing, water refill is good example ... just the right amount.

This place was fantastic, some of the best service and food I’ve ever had. If you are in the Crown/Rio area, do yourself a favor and come check it out. The food was very flavorful and well seasoned. We ordered the Royal Chat platter and the Royal Kebab platter. Both exceeded our expectations and we had heard this place was very good. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, making you feel like you are dining in an Indian palace. When I say this was some of the best service I’ve ever had, I really mean it. Our server A.P. truly went above and beyond, taking what would have already been an excellent meal and making it an unforgettable experience. I can’t wait to come back!

Food is yummy. Nice authentic flavors. Chat and non veg platters are too good. Chicken entrees are amazing. Paneer tikka masala was the best. Biryani was little disappointment as it was dry. Kulfi was great. Service is good, ambience is royal.

So happy we tried this Indian restaurant. It is as advertised, absolutely amazing. They clearly put a lot of thought into the decor, it's colorful, with a fancy vibe, but not at all stuffy, while maintaining a casual atmosphere. The service was prompt and professional. The food arrived fast and hot. The vegetable samosas had a crispy, flaky exterior, with a well cooked filling. Clearly they're made in house. They're served with plenty of chutney too. The entrees we shared were large portions (shrimp vindaloo and the royal butter chicken). We probably could've shared one entree. The rice was cooked too perfection, and the garlic naan was a perfect accompaniment. Will absolutely be returning. Apparently they are open 365 days a year, but they are closed from 2:30 - 4:30 daily.

Hands down, this was some of the best Indian food I’ve had in years. The flavors were bold, authentic, and perfectly balanced. We ordered the chicken tandoori and chicken tikka masala — both dishes were absolutely incredible, packed with spice and cooked to perfection. We also really enjoyed the samosas, naan, and mango lassi. Lastly, the service by AP and Sureeta was excellent - they were very friendly, very knowledgeable about the menu, and very attentive. We will be coming back here again and again

Absolutely loved our visit to Royal Tandoor! The ambience is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed meal. The food was incredibly tasty—highly recommend trying the Royal Chat Platter and the Soya Chaap, both were outstanding! We ended our meal with their delicious kheer, which was the perfect sweet finish. The staff were very welcoming and provided excellent service throughout. Will definitely be coming back!

The service was super fast with friendly staffs who made sure to check up on us. The place was packed and we didn’t make reservation. However, the moment we entered, the staff got us a table within seconds! There is a buffet but you can also order your own food! They gave us samosa on the house, which is very accommodating. One of the staffs even gave us small sample of different food and let us try it out! Definitely come back here :)
